The light doesn't come with instructions on how to use the app. Which is the only way that the light can be controlled.
The app is super granular and not intuitive, it's probably great for a lighting designer, or programmer, but difficult to just have the light turn on at night and off in the morning. They need to make a dummy version for people who buy 1 light and need simple control.
If you don't need the color changing, "rhythms", "themes", "schedules", "timers", "music syncing", "16M+ colors", app control. Then buy a simple light with a photocell, plus your light won't be using wifi bandwidth. I wish there were a way to program the light and disconnect it from my wifi.
They've done a bang up job overcomplicating a light.
